The Cultural Arts Coalition, founded in 2010, is a 501(C)(3) not-for-profit organization dedicated to creating and sustaining a cultural arts center for Brewster, the Town of Southeast and the surrounding region. We provide opportunities for a diverse group to participate in or simply enjoy the arts, locally and affordably!
Since inception, the Coalition has produced, presented or hosted hundreds of arts offerings and simultaneously spearheaded efforts to restore the historic Southeast Old Town Hall and its exquisite Theater, our current home - the Jewel in the Crown of Brewster and key to its revitalization.
The Studio Around the Corner (on the lower level of Old Town Hall) opened in 2011 to showcase area artists in an elegant gallery space, and hosts concerts, workshops, rehearsals, lectures, and classes.
Since late 2021, our restoration efforts have allowed us to to use the theater in limited fashion for live performances - and proudly resulted in being selected to receive a $500,000 matching, reimbursable grant towards the Old Town Hall preservation. We anticipate these monies will soon be employed by the building's owner towards a full-scale restoration.
As construction activities get underway, the Coalition will continue to use the Studio, Theater and venues in the area to celebrate the community with transformative and inspiring arts experiences!
