This is a forum created by writers, for writers—a welcoming, supportive environment to explore, test, and refine your work. Whether you’re just beginning your writing journey or you’re a seasoned storyteller, this space is built on the belief that we all have something to learn from one another.
The program welcomes playwrights, screenwriters, fiction writers, memoirists, poets and other literary artists interested in hearing their work read aloud, refining their craft, and engaging with a community of fellow creators.
Last year, Writers Round did a cold reading model that relied on the attendance of actors. Actors sat on the stage and the audience viewed the work. After each reading, a brief discussion was facilitated using elements of the Liz Lerman's critical response method.
This Fall, Writers Round is trying a new format and moving to a collaborative table-read style - allowing us to accommodate more writers and remove the reliance on actor participation. Writers will submit work in advance for a place on the session roster, and we - as fellow writers - will read for each other.
